Open Door Site Archive Collection

This work was made during lockdown. Unable to get to my studio in London, I was offered a residency at a charity local to my home at that time, working in a trailer sited on their grounds.

The residency lasted for over a year, making site-specific work in the surrounding gardens and working with other artists invited to share the space including a bookbinder, a filmmaker and someone who made ink from the garden plants. Together we created an archive of work and put together online workshops for people to make at home, including pottery, mushroom printing and more. We put on an exhibition called Nature's Medicine.

From this residency I created another project called Down Rectory Lane which was a collaboration with the local cemetery, who wanted to do something that marked the passage of Covid. We created a community project, inviting people to stitch a word reflecting their experience of the pandemic, onto a collaborative artwork.
